1984 - AFD 26 Leaves Portsmouth
9th May. Admiralty Floating Dock No 26 (AFD 26) leaves Portsmouth.
AFD 26 came to Portsmouth in 1959 from Portland. Her first dry docking was the submarine Trespasser on 15th June 1959, her last dry docking was the submarine Otus on 10th October 1983. During her service in the dockyard she had dry docked 400 submarines and 17 other vessels.
She was towed first to Blundell & Crompton L:td at Tilbury Docks for a sixteen week refit, and then to Rosyth to be used primarily for conventional-submarine dry-dockings,
