1932 - HMS Duncan Named
6th July. The destroyer leader Duncan was christened and floated up from No. 8. Dry Dock where she was built. The naming ceremony was performed by Mrs L. G. Preston, wife of the Fourth Sea Lord.
Duncan saw much hard service during the Second World War, sinking three German U-boats. But by the end of the war she was worn out and scrapped in 1946 at Barrow.
