1912 - Parliamentary Fleet Inspection

9th July. An assembly of the fleet took place for the benefit of both Houses of Parliament.

There assembled 233 ships of all classes, including 44 battleships, 5 battlecruisers, 25 armoured cruisers and 106 destroyers. At a given signal they weighed anchor and steamed silently past the awed legislators on board a great liner until only she and the Admiralty Yacht Enchantress were left in the roadstead.
