1903 - HMS VICTORY Rammed
23rd October. HMS “Victory” was rammed and nearly sunk at her mooring by old battleship “Neptune” that was under tow to the breakers yard. As Neptune came abreast of the Victory she broke her tow and slewed across the harbour striking the Victory on her starboard side and caused considerable flooding. Victory was quickly placed in dry dock and repaired. (See 1765, 1816, & 1922).
