1665 - Dockyard Commissioners House

Dockyard Commissioners House. Middleton to Pepys. Cannot imagine that his present house was built only for himself: is content with a good bed to lie on, a hammock to sleep in, two or three stools and chairs, and a few platters of meat. Suppose accommodation will be expected for any of the Commissioners when they come down; if not, begs that no further expense may be incurred.
